Sava Dobroplodni Library was established in 1955. Under Decree 153/28.07.2000 it gained the status of a regional library - a major cultural and scientific information center operating in the territory of Sliven and Yambol regions.Since 1995 school, popular science and children literature have been available in the library.

The Regional Historical Museum in Sliven is one of the oldest institutions in the city.Today the museum is housed in a beautiful building on the main street of Sliven, whose red color couldn't be mistaken for anything else.

The Museum of Textile Industry is a branch of the National Polytechnic Museum. It is located in Sliven, at 3, Stoil Voyvoda Square, and is housed in a building which is a monument of culture.

Thematically, the museum is dedicated entirely to the production of textiles from the ancient past until the present day and as such it is the only one of its kind in Bulgaria.

In the end of the 18th century, the Sliven district of Kloutsohor witnessed the construction of a new house. Revolutionary Hadzhi Dimitar was born there on May 10 1840.

In the first quarter of the nineteenth century, unknown Tryavna craftsmen built an open symmetric veranda house in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Sliven - Kaftandzhiyska. It exemplifies the residential architecture from the time of Bulgarian Revival.

In the old neighborhood of Sliven "Deli Balta" there is a house, which was once inhabited by a talented poet, educator and church activist of the Bulgarian Revival.His name is Dobri Chintulov.
